No. Both the mat and the suction cups are made of PVC vinyl.
Wash the mat in cold or warm water in your washing machine with a few towels to keep the mat from floating. After washing, hang your mat to dry in an open space to allow air to move freely around both sides of the mat. Do not put the mat back into your bathtub when it is wet.
If you have a white mat, you can add a small amount of bleach if necessary, but repeated bleaching is not recommended.
If your mat is changing colors, this could be an indication that you are not allowing the mat to be thoroughly dried after each use. For best results, remove your mat from the tub and hang your mat to dry in an open space to allow air to move freely around both sides of the mat. Do not put the mat back into your bathtub when it is wet.
Duck® brand Bath Mats are not intended for use on any type of textured surface. These include ceramic tile or any type of pre-textured tubs.
First, be sure you do not have a textured surface on the bottom of your tub. Second, many cleaners will leave behind an invisible film on the bottom of your tub, which causes the suction cups not to hold properly. After cleaning your tub, wipe the bottom of it down with rubbing alcohol to remove the film left behind by the cleaner. If you tried to put the mat in your tub without using the rubbing alcohol, be sure to wipe the suction cups with the rubbing alcohol, as well, before putting the mat back in the tub.
No, the bath mats cannot be cut to size as the suction cups are strategically placed for safety.
While the bathtub is empty (no water) warm the tread with a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive. With a kitchen spatula begin to lift the end of the tread to pull it back. You may need to stop and repeat the warming process as you work to lift the tread (the softer the adhesive, the easier it will be to lift).
Once the treads are removed, thoroughly remove the residue by cleaning with Duck® Brand Adhesive Remover— a heavy-duty adhesive residue removal solution that assists with the removal of Duck Tape®, masking tape, carpet tape, weatherstripping tape, mounting tape, labels, stickers, tar, gum and more. Our remover is safe to use on all types of hard surfaces including: walls, floors, doors, furniture, cars, metal, plastic, glass and wood. Always test solvents on a small, inconspicuous area to make sure it won’t damage the surface. Our sponge applicator makes it easy to use with precise application. There is a convenient built-in scraper tool attached, so there’s no need for additional tools. It comes in a fresh citrus scent and an easy to handle bottle. Not recommended for fine fabrics and furniture, or absorbent surfaces.
Be sure to wipe your tub with rubbing alcohol prior to putting in your new treads.
Slide a piece of fishing line or dental floss under the foam backing, trying to stay as close to the surface as possible. Once most of the foam backing is removed, follow the steps for regular adhesive removal.

A "home remedy" we recommend is WD-40. This petroleum-based lubricant is excellent for removing adhesives. Rubbing alcohol also works for removing light adhesives, but evaporates quickly. Remember to test these products before applying on a large scale. For more information on Duck® brand Adhesive Remover, call 800-321-0253.
Knead a piece of mounting putty into a soft, round ball and roll the ball in a circular motion over the residue. The remaining putty will be picked up.
For general adhesive removal, we recommend Duck® brand Adhesive Remover .
All surfaces should be clean and free of dust or dirt before placing any tape on them. You will want to dust the surface and then wipe the area down with rubbing alcohol. However, rubbing alcohol can dull certain surfaces, so try it on a small, inconspicuous area before applying on a large scale.
No, Duck Tape® is not waterproof—it is water resistant. This means the tape cannot be consistently submerged in water.

Yes, it is rated under UL 723.
The best way to remove the liner from the double-sided duct tape, is to pull the length of tape from the roll and with a pair of scissor, make a small cut (don’t cut all the way through—this is just a starting point) and then tear the rest of the way with your hands to remove the piece of tape from the roll. The edges of the tape will now be rigid and you will be able to see where the liner and tape begin to separate from one another.
The natural latex adhesive on masking tape ages and dries out from prolonged exposure to rays, heat or improper storage. Sometimes this happens before you buy the tape from the store.
First, try running a hair dryer or heat gun over the tape backing to warm and soften the adhesive. After a minute or two, you can peel the tape away. If the masking tape is really stuck on the surface, saturate the rubber adhesive with solvent and let it soak in for five to 10 minutes. Place a rag or towel over your index finger and rub the adhesive in a circular motion until it comes off.
For paper-backed tapes, like masking tape, you can apply the solvent directly to the tape and let it soak in. Scrape the tape off with a plastic scraper, razor blade or use a stiff-bristled brush.
The key to removing rubber adhesive is to let the solvent do the work for you. The more you let it soak, the easier it is to remove the adhesive. Five to 10 minutes is usually enough time.
To get the longest life out of your liner, wash it in warm, sudsy water, rinse clean and air-dry. You may also wipe the liner clean with a damp cloth. Be sure the liner is completely dry before putting items back on top of it in your cupboards or drawers.
Easy Liner® contains chemicals called plasticizers. When the plasticizers used in the Easy Liner® come into contact with the chemicals in lacquer and urethane finishes, a permanent bond forms. The liner will stick to the surface or lift pieces of the finish upon removal of the liner.
If the wood looks shiny and varnished, it probably has a lacquered or urethane finish. If you know who manufactured/finished your cabinets or furniture, try giving them a call to find out for sure. If you're unsure, it's better to play it safe than to risk damaging the surface.
Easy Liner® is safe for many surfaces, including but not limited to: bare wood, painted wood, wood that is stained but not varnished, Formica, glass and/or metal.
Easy Liner® and Supreme Easy Liner® are made of a polyester mesh that is coated with PVC vinyl and baked in an oven. Smooth Top™ Easy Liner® is a solid vinyl shelf liner laminated to a non-skid PVC vinyl backing.
Please call our Consumer Line at 800-321-0253 with any questions or concerns.
Easy Liner®, Supreme Easy Liner® and Smooth Top™ Easy Liner® with PVC backing do not contain latex.
Some of the adhesive liners and Smooth Top™ Easy Liner® with foam backing do contain latex, but the Smooth Top™ with foam backing has been discontinued. Please call our Consumer Line at 800-321-0253 with any questions or concerns.
Easy Liner® is safe to use in the areas where drinking glasses, plates, utensils and packaged foods are stored. Easy Liner® should not be ingested by people or pets.
Easy Liner® is made of vinyl and can melt. It should not be exposed to open flame or temperatures exceeding 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
If the inner portion of the roll is wrinkled, simply put the wrinkled liner in your clothes dryer with a bath towel or two and tumble dry for five to 10 minutes on a warm setting. Remove the liner while still warm and lay on a flat surface. Smooth out the wrinkles with your hands and let the liner cool before putting in cupboards or drawers.
1. Heat the surface with a hair dryer (When temperatures drop below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, adhesives tend to harden and won't stick).
2. Firmly press the tape on to the surface before removing the release liner.
3. After removing the release liner, heat the tape with the hair dryer to soften the adhesive.
4. Position the plastic film over the window. Firmly press the plastic along the tape to secure it in place. Be careful not to over-shrink the film because this will put too much pressure on the tape and it will pull away from the window.
When installing your EPDM Weatherstrip Seals, first measure the gap that you are trying to seal in your doorway. The flat edge should be against the vertical or horizontal framing for the door to shut against the thicker part of the seal.
The double-sided tape in Duck® brand window kits is recommended for painted wood, finished/varnished wood, aluminum and vinyl.
No. The difference between our Outdoor Window Kit and Indoor Window Kit is the tape used for each application. The Outdoor Kit tape is much stronger. When used inside, it remains soft. Also, the tape may peel off paint/varnish when removed or leave a very sticky residue. The plastic film in both kits is the same, so using a hair dryer to shrink the Outdoor Kit film will work.

Closed cell sponge tapes allow you to correctly size the gap you are working with and are more durable for doors and windows that are used often. The open cell sponge tape will let you have a quick fix until you can properly measure and fit the tape to the gap size.

The two most common reasons are: the surface wasn't clean before you applied the tape or the surface is too cold for the tape to stick. The surface should be 40 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer to apply the tape.
