No. Both the mat and the suction cups are made of PVC vinyl.
Wash the mat in cold or warm water in your washing machine with a few towels to keep the mat from floating. After washing, hang your mat to dry in an open space to allow air to move freely around both sides of the mat. Do not put the mat back into your bathtub when it is wet.
If you have a white mat, you can add a small amount of bleach if necessary, but repeated bleaching is not recommended.
If your mat is changing colors, this could be an indication that you are not allowing the mat to be thoroughly dried after each use. For best results, remove your mat from the tub and hang your mat to dry in an open space to allow air to move freely around both sides of the mat. Do not put the mat back into your bathtub when it is wet.
Duck® brand Bath Mats are not intended for use on any type of textured surface. These include ceramic tile or any type of pre-textured tubs.
First, be sure you do not have a textured surface on the bottom of your tub. Second, many cleaners will leave behind an invisible film on the bottom of your tub, which causes the suction cups not to hold properly. After cleaning your tub, wipe the bottom of it down with rubbing alcohol to remove the film left behind by the cleaner. If you tried to put the mat in your tub without using the rubbing alcohol, be sure to wipe the suction cups with the rubbing alcohol, as well, before putting the mat back in the tub.
No, the bath mats cannot be cut to size as the suction cups are strategically placed for safety.
While the bathtub is empty (no water) warm the tread with a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive. With a kitchen spatula begin to lift the end of the tread to pull it back. You may need to stop and repeat the warming process as you work to lift the tread (the softer the adhesive, the easier it will be to lift).
Once the treads are removed, thoroughly remove the residue by cleaning with Duck® Brand Adhesive Remover— a heavy-duty adhesive residue removal solution that assists with the removal of Duck Tape®, masking tape, carpet tape, weatherstripping tape, mounting tape, labels, stickers, tar, gum and more. Our remover is safe to use on all types of hard surfaces including: walls, floors, doors, furniture, cars, metal, plastic, glass and wood. Always test solvents on a small, inconspicuous area to make sure it won’t damage the surface. Our sponge applicator makes it easy to use with precise application. There is a convenient built-in scraper tool attached, so there’s no need for additional tools. It comes in a fresh citrus scent and an easy to handle bottle. Not recommended for fine fabrics and furniture, or absorbent surfaces.
Be sure to wipe your tub with rubbing alcohol prior to putting in your new treads.
