Slide a piece of fishing line or dental floss under the foam backing, trying to stay as close to the surface as possible. Once most of the foam backing is removed, follow the steps for regular adhesive removal.
Duck® brand Adhesive Remover is a heavy-duty adhesive residue removal solution that assists with the removal of Duck Tape®, masking tape, carpet tape, weatherstripping tape, mounting tape, labels, stickers, tar, gum and more. A "home remedy" we recommend is WD-40. This petroleum-based lubricant is excellent for removing adhesives. Rubbing alcohol also works for removing light adhesives, but evaporates quickly. Knead a piece of mounting putty into a soft, round ball and roll the ball in a circular motion over the residue. The remaining putty will be picked up.
