100% Tape: Woven Book Bag
Ducktivity provided by Doctor Tape 2 Much
Very fun(: Take your time and do it right. The person that I got directions from was messed up so I had to try to fix it. It didn't turn out how I wanted, but it's good enough/The weaving is pretty easy, but it gets hard when you have a lot of the strips. If you don't know how (it's really hard to explain in words) than just look up a video on YouTube. Sorry I didn't take pictures while doing it so directions are pretty much useless. sorry...! (; P.S. it takes about 2-3 rolls for each color.
Approximate Crafting Time:8:30
Supplies and Tools:
- 2 colors of tape
- large flat surface
- time and patience
- creativity and skill...!
You will have 2 colors (color 1 and 2)
Take color 1 and make 80 strips that are 4 inches long.
By strips, I mean rip off a piece of duct tape the required length. Then, fold each side to meet in the middle, making sure to cover the sticky side completely.
Set those aside for now.
Color 1 again.
This time, make 45 strips that are 15 or longer inches in length. It's always good to have extra in case the length is not as wide as you want the bag to be.
Set those aside.
Make 4 strips about 76 inches.. The strap seemed to be long enough for the "average" person. These strips will be paired with the 80 strips to make the sides and strap.
Make 15 strips 42 inches long. These will be woven along with the Step 2 strips to create the main body.
To make the strap, weave steps 1 & 3 strips together. Cut of excess and fix it up to make it look better.
To make the main body, weave the strips in step 2 & 4
Tape up the bag together, and make it strong. Especially if you are gonna carry a lot of heavy things in it.
Enjoy your bag(: Don't beat yourself up if it looks bad...It's your first few times! Hey! It's hard. Give yourself some credit. (:
