Cover your straw in Duck Tape® to create your stem. A recommended way is to roll the straw lengthwise across the Duck Tape® with the sticky side up.
Tear or cut a 2 inch strip and, with the strip sticky side up, fold over one side so there is some stickiness showing on the side and bottom.
Take the other side and fold it over to make a triangle, leaving only the bottom of the strip sticky.
Tightly roll the piece from step 3; this will be your center.
Attach your center piece to the top of the dowel rod with a piece of Duck Tape®.
Repeat step 2-5, slightly overlapping the petals and keeping the tips of your petals even. Continue until you’ve reached the desired size.
For the leaves under the rose, repeat steps 2-3 with the same color as the stem. Wrap those pieces around the stem at the base of the flower to cover up the tape edge.
