  • Review the contest rules and regulations for important details.
  • Remember these key dates:
    • Contest begins: March 1, 2010
    • Contest ends (and entries must be received by): June 7, 2010
    • Online voting (top 10): June 18 - July 26, 2010
    • Winners announced around July 28, 2010
  • Find a date for prom who's willing to attend prom in duct tape with you.
  • Design and create your duct tape formalwear.
    • Create an original outfit that does not copy or infringe upon the work of a third party (an individual, company or organization that owns the rights to a brand, trademark, copyright or other patented material).
    • Don't forget to include duct tape accessories, like a purse, jewelry, boutonniere and corsage, shoes and more!
    • Remember the judging criteria:
      • Workmanship (30%): the quality, neatness and attention to detail given in creating the outfits and accessories.
      • Originality (25%): the uniqueness, inventiveness, creativity and original thought of the outfits and accessories.
      • Use of Color (15%): the combination, integration and harmony of colors used to create the outfits and accessories.
      • Accessories (10%): the creativity and use of accessories in accentuating and completing the outfits.
      • Quantity of Duct Tape Used (10%): the use of duct tape to construct the pieces of the outfits and accessories.
  • Attend a high school, home school association or other school-sanctioned prom in the spring of 2010 wearing prom attire and/or accessories made with duct tape.
  • Become a member of the "Duck Tape Club™" to begin your entry submission process.
  • Enter as a couple (two individuals – co-ed or same gender are acceptable).
  • Sign and submit a Liability and Publicity Release and Consent Form – if entrant is a minor (under 18 years of age), a parent or guardian must sign this.
  • Complete the online submission form, including each individual's full name, address, telephone number, e-mail address (if applicable) and age/grade level, and the name of the closest major city to the individual's hometown.
  • Submit the name, address and telephone number of the high school, or home school association, which is hosting the prom, and the date the prom was held.
  • Submit one high-resolution color photograph (professional or amateur) in prom attire as a couple.
    • High-resolution is a large file, 300 dpi or ppi. If needed, set your camera to the highest setting possible to take the picture.
    • This year, you can submit up to a total of five (5) photos (see next) – so, we recommend not cluttering this photo with a collage of accessories, outfit details and more.
    • Photos can be taken anywhere – it does not have to be at the prom.
    • Smile and pose for the photos – have some fun!
    • Pick a background that will accent the outfits, but be sure the chosen backdrop doesn't blend in.
    • Remember: if a professional photo is entered, a photography release form signed by the photographer must accompany the submission.
  • Submit up to four (4) additional photos to show off your accessories, outfits from different angles, etc.
  • Submit a release form signed by the photographer, if the photo(s) is professional.
  • Share with us the details of your outfits, such as how long did it take to create, how many rolls, what colors did you use, etc.
