The inspiration for my outfit came from the title of the contest. I heard "Stuck at Prom" and thought to myself, more like "Stuck at Home" and the idea was born. I am a hard- working high school student that takes honors courses along with college credit plus classes. My desire is to enter into Forensics Investigations at Bowling Green State University. I have done a lot of research and am determined to go to college debt-free. In looking through scholarship applications I came across this contest and thought it would be perfect for me! Although I am not a very crafty person, I am always up for a challenge! Covid-19 brought many challenges and unique situations into the world, so I figured what better way to get through quarantine than by creating my very own "Stuck at Home" tuxedo! I am extremely detail-oriented, so adding each individual piece that aligned with quarantine and Covid-19 was a fun process. The tuxedo details include: the Covid-19 virus as seen throughout the news and media, hand sanitizer since it became a quick necessity, caution tape because so many things were closed off and not allowed and toilet paper was a funny addition since it was so scarce at the beginning of quarantine! I worked hard to create 6 accessories including a belt, watch, bow tie, red rose boutonniere, duct tape shoes and a duct tape mask. I had a great time creating my "Stuck at Home" Tuxedo and believe that it represents my personality and the time that we are currently living in.
