My dress was inspired by a poem my friend wrote. It's called dreams where it is like a story to a child telling them to dream of a beautiful place where there are blue butterflies tickling your nose and beautiful flowers everywhere you go. with the japanese cherry tree blossoms falling all over the dress and the navy blue color of the butterflies.

I was inspired by flowers for my dress. I wanted the dress to look elegant so I decided to intertwine the flowers with vines and leaves. I also wanted the flower pattern to be the focal point of the dress. To do this I made the pattern using pink sparkly duct tape and put it on to a white dress to really make it pop.

I have always found Beauty and the Beast so special so I wanted to do a spin off of her dress she wears in there first dance between each other. The flowers represent the beauty and growth between the two characters and the white/gold pieces in the center piece of the dress represents the pain and hardships they went through before the good. The rose petals falling down the dress represents time and how it’s being spent.

I designed my dress to match my body shape and skin tone. I based the entire design on what would make me feel confident and happy. The gem design on the bodice emerged from the crisscross pattern of the tape. The gems on the back of the dress were inspired by the idea of a cascading waterfall.

My elementary school art teacher was amazing! Her name is Mrs Casey. She was so passionate about the great artists and taught us not to be afraid to try anything, so we did. This year, my senior year, she was hired as my High School's Art teacher! She is the one who told me about this contest, challenged me and has always encouraged me to follow my passion. For my tuxedo, I wanted to use as many colors as possible and create my own piece of wearable modern art. I used all deceased Masterpiece Artists as my inspiration because I wanted my creation to be classy, fun and unique while paying respect to the great artists who have influenced so many! I have been accepted to Savannah College of Art and Design. The cost is $60K a year, I have spent the last couple of years entering various scholarship contests, working hard on grades and saving money but this scholarship has been the most fun and challenging for sure! It was hard, sometimes very frustrating and tedious but I kept pushing to not compromise the vision I had and I am so glad I did. One of the hardest and scariest parts was making my own pattern, cutting the intricate pieces and then making all of the final adjustments so the tux would fit just right (where the shoulders and arms met, were by far the most challenging). It was such a huge relief and so excitng when it all came together. The best part was sending her the pictures and video of the finished tuxedo. I'm hoping I made her proud because her passion for Art is what has made me choose Design as a career and I am so excited to be able to go to college to do what I love.

My inspiration for this dress was my favorite character for comic con, Harley Quinn. The reason I chose this as my inspiration is to represent the LGBT community and also the Covid pandemic that is taking place. Covid helped us all to focus on families and the way some of my best times with my dad are watching Harley Quinn. “Harley Quinn, pleased to meet ya.”

The works of artisans art-nouveau style, such as the painters Eugene Grasset and Alphonse Mucha, and the designer Louis Comfort Tiffany - have had a profound effect on me ever since we studied the Belle-Epoque in art class. The floral theme and the gentle flowing designs of the pattern and design of my dress are homage to all those artists and the beauty they created. The colours, however, are reflective of my chosen profession; I'll be going to University to study medicine. Sage is a typical colour of scrubs that frontline personnel wear, and white stands for lab coats of researchers.

This dress was inspired by my need for a creative outlet through quarantine. I wanted to make the colors coordinate and I knew what shape I wanted, and I worked from there.

Due to the epidemic, I was not granted a prom. That was very heartbreaking for me. I wanted to create something that I would've worn to my own prom. Or something that I would love to see a friend or loved one wear. I decided to go with something chic, modern, and simple. Less is more and I think my dress ended up looking fabulous. Thank you!

I love the beach, and wanted to incorporate elements of it into my outfit. The wave pattern on the skirt, along with many seashells, captures key elements of the beach. The parasol also fits into the theme, providing protection from the sun. This outfit was a blend of traditional prom fashion, and a sundress you would wear on the beach, listening to waves and feeling a nice seaside breeze.

My inspiration for this look was based on current events, like COVID-19. I wanted my dress to be a associated with eminent characteristics. I chose the colors red, gold, and black because of what they represent. Red represents strength and power; gold represents courage, and black represents elegance. These three colors symbolize characteristics that will help us get past COVID-19. Additionally, I created two different looks by creating an off the shoulder capelet. I also added flowers to my dress because I feel that by incorporating floral aesthetics, I was able to create a dress with a dynamic personality.

This dress is a dedication to everyone who missed opportunities because of Corona virus. Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, I missed my senior prom. I made the dress a two piece dress after the dress I would have worn. The theme at my school was also starry night, so I wanted to incorporate stars too. Finally, I also made one of my accessories a mask to show COVID's impact.

I've always want a full skirted, dramatic prom dress. But as an avid Project Runway fan, I wanted to create a surprise reveal. I got the 3D butterfly idea from an episode of project runway as well. In addition, I chose my color palette based off the patterned tape that I chose (vintage rose).

I wanted a night sky theme a little bit like the "starry night". I also wanted a more vintage style which is why the dress is form fitted and midi length as opposed to a more traditional prom dress.

The inspiration for my outfit was my mom. Earlier this year she had picked out a dress for me to wear to formal, but I didn’t get the chance to wear it for her. I had a drumline competition the same day and time as formal, but was informed after buying a ticket. My mom still got me a beautiful navy blue dress for the dance I was most likely going to miss. We later found out that I was also going to miss prom due to the virus, so I used this opportunity to give my mom a chance to see me get ready for a dance and have laugh at the same time.
