After stumbling through a variety of tux themes, I came across the idea to construct a lake-themed tuxedo while skiing at sunset a few weeks ago. I’ve been skiing since I was young, so it was a nice way to commemorate a sport that has affected my life in so many ways. I used white as the main tone of my tuxedo to represent the rush I get when wakeboarding that I've fallen in love with the past few years. I knew from the beginning I wanted the main highlight of the tux to be the wakeboard silhouette across the sunset, but as I began to reminisce of my wakeboarding memories as a child during construction, I decided to incorporate my old childhood life jacket design into the overall creation. Several of the illustrations took close precision with scissors, and I even had to use a needle for several of the tight areas. All in all, even though I won't be able to wear the tuxedo to my prom, it was a great experience to be able to create an entire outfit based off of my creation alone.
