Duck tape Fedora

Ducktivity provided by Gypsyraven

Was trickier than I first thought but I am very happy with the finished Project. Use the silver tape for the inside and you will save money. This was my first duck tape build. Have fun

Skill Level:

Intermediate

Approximate Crafting Time:

2:0

Supplies and Tools:

  • Aluminum foil
  • duck tape
  • card board (optional)

Directions

Print
  • Step 1

Take the foil and an old hat (any hat will do) now cover the entire hat with the foil. Make sure the hat is entirely covered

  • Step 2

Cut the card board out in any shape you would like the brim of your hat to be. Then cut a hole in the middle of the card board big enough to slide over the foil covered hat.

  • Step 3

Start covering the foil with the duck tape while it is still on the hat, but do not attach any tape to the hat. (you can do this in strips all the way across or start wrapping around the crown, up to you)

  • Step 4

Now that the entire top of your hat is covered with the duck tape and you have made sure no foil is showing, lets take the hat we used to mold on out of the foil. Now you can start shaping the card board any way you want, curl it up or leave it straight. Now start covering the bottom and inside with duck tape. I used the silver plain tape on my inside to save some money. just make sure that the foil is not showing anywhere. After that you can choose to put a hat band around it (out of different style of duck tape) or just leave it plain. Now you have a great looking, durable custom made hat to wow your friends.
