Cell Phone/ IPod Case

Ducktivity provided by Julia1021

This is a case that you can make out of Duck Tape, and you can use it for your cell phone, IPod, or anything!

Skill Level:

Intermediate

Approximate Crafting Time:

0:30

Supplies and Tools:

  • 2 Duck Tape Colors
  • (Optional) Velcro Sticky Backs
  • Cell Phone
  • IPod
  • or other

Directions

Print
  • Step 1

Pick 2 colors of duck tape. Pick 1 color to be the outside color of your case, and 1 color to be the inside color of your case.

  • Step 2

Take the color that you choose to be the outside color of your case, and take about as many strips of tape that is about the height of your device. Flip them over so the sticky side is facing up, and layer them on top of each other. The length of the strips of tape should be about 6 inches, depending on the width of your device.

  • Step 3

Next, take the color that is going to be the inside of your case, and layer it right on top of the sticky side of the outside color of your case.

  • Step 4

Trim the sides so that it is even and no sticky part of the tape is showing. If necessary, trim the top of your case so it is the height of your device. Put your device on top of it.

  • Step 5

Fold over the right side of your case, so that part of your device is covered.

  • Step 6

Fold over the left side of your case so that all of your device is covered.

  • Step 7

Take about a 2 inch piece of the outside color of your case, and put it on so that it is keeping the two sides you folded over in step 6 together. Make sure you tape it so that your device can easily slide in and out of your case. (Don't worry the next step is putting on a bottom of your case!)

  • Step 8

Take about a 3inch piece of the outside color of your case, and flip it over so that the sticky side is facing up. Then take about a 2inch piece of the outside color of your case, and lay it right on top of your first piece. DO NOT TRIM IT!

  • Step 9

Flip your case over to the back, and about 3/4 of the way down, stick one of the sticky side end onto the case. Then flip the case over.

  • Step 10

Take the other end of the sticky side of the tape, and stick it to the front of your case. Now you have a bottom to your case! If necessary, repeat steps 8-10 to cover the whole bottom of your case. You only have to do this if your device is wider that the width of the pieces of tape.

  • Step 11

THE NEXT STEPS ARE OPTIONAL, IF YOU HAVE VELCRO STICKY BACKS THEN YOU CAN COMPLETE THESE STEPS. Take about a 4 inch piece of the inside color of your case, and fold it in half.

  • Step 12

Flip your case over to the back, and lay about half of what you made in step 11 down.

  • Step 13

Take about a 2inch piece of the outside color of your case, and put it on so that it is covering half of the 4 inch piece of duck tape you put down on the back of your case in step 12. Now flip your case over.

  • Step 14

Take the rest of your 4 inch piece of duck tape, and bring it down so that it is touching the front side of your case. If it is too low for you, then go back to steps 12 and move it down.

  • Step 15

Take your velcro sticky backs and put one on the inside of your 4 inch piece of duck tape, and the other one right one top of it so that the sticky part is facing up. Then take the 4 inch piece of duck tape, and bring it down to front side of your case and push hard so the when your put it back up the velcro does not come off.

  • Step 16

Now, put the 4 inch piece of duck tape down again, so that the velcro is together. If you want you can put a bow on the front, or you can round the end so that it looks cool. It is up to you! Now you have a cell phone, IPod, or anything case! Enjoy! Please rate and comment!
