Fun Clutch Purse :)
Ducktivity provided by nadeau1
I don't really have much to say, except i'm exceptionally proud of it :)
Approximate Crafting Time:1:15
Supplies and Tools:
- Zebra Duct tape (bow's middle)
- Black duct tape
- Green duct tape
- flat surface
Cut 5-7 pieces of duct tape (to a length that fits your fancy) then overlap them on top of each other laying them sticky side up. This will be the outside of your bag.
Repeat step one only laying these pieces of duct tape onto the sticky side of your first piece. This will be your clutch's LINING. If you want you can use a different color like I did.
Next you want to trim the edges to clean them up and make them pretty. After that if you want to make your clutch smaller, now would be the time to do it. Because now would be the point when you can trim and cut.
Now you can make two pockets. Here i'm going to assume you know how to make and attach them to stuff so I don't have to drone on and on and on about it. But, to locate where your pockets should go you should take the bottom half and pull it up as much as you want on the purse (probably a little more than half) once you have it where you want crease it. Then pull the top down over it and crease that. When you open it back up somewhere in between the crease marks is going to be where your pockets are going to go.
Your going to need to bring the bottom of your bag back up to the crease mark. Cut a piece of duct tape long enough to close the sides of your bag and rip it in half. After that take one piece and close one end. (Cut any extra) Do the same to the other side. and BAM! easy peasy and looks like a clutch.
After this you need to make stripes on the inside of the bag (This only pertains to the top half, not the part you just closed up) You will take the color you used on your bags outside (or really any color) and pull off a piece of tape a little longer than the length of your bag. After this rip it in half and then rip those pieces in half. Then place them (starting at the top in even incriments) and ta-da you have stripes.
Next you probably want to make the bow that goes on the clutch which is really easy. (there are tons of tutorials on youtube) so do that....
Next you can apply your bow to the top corner of your clutch's flap (i used just another piece of tape)
What I did was fold down the clutch's flap and make a small line with my scissors near the end and that was where I would start putting my stripes the color of my lining on the front. You can close the flap if you want first, it really does not matter.
Next you will take duct tape the color of your lining and repeat step 6 only starting at the spot where the flap closes.
Now just close and secure your flap and you are done!
