Cover empty tape roll with two pieces of tape wrapping the excess under one edge. On the opposite edge, cut notches in the tape at 1/2 in. intervals. You can add a third piece of tape, centered on the tape roll to cover the seam if desired.
Attach tape roll to the bottom of the can using tape tabs.
Cover the bottom portion of the can with the same color tape you used on the tape roll.
Cover the remainder of the can with the second tape color.
Line the inside top portion of the can with tape. It helps to work in sections, covering half the can at a time.
Optional knobs. Paint knobs desired color and let dry. Use a nail and hammer, or a drill to make two holes near the top of the can. Screw wood knobs to can.
