Applying adhesive shelf liner on shelves or in drawers can be a drawn-out task. Abby, from Abby Organizes, shares a few simple steps on how she applies adhesive shelf liner in drawers for a perfect fit every time.

Abby's go-to liner product is EasyLiner® Adhesive Prints Shelf Liner. Ideal for covering, decorating and resurfacing shelves or drawers, this adhesive shelf liner easily sticks to flat, smooth surfaces to instantly give a new look. The pre-printed paper backing makes it easy to measure and cut the liner to size. Plus, it's easy to wipe clean and is removable.

Check out the steps below to see how Abby applies adhesive shelf liner in drawers for a perfect fit every time.

1. Measure. To get started, measure the drawer as accurately as possible for the easiest installation of the adhesive shelf liner.

2. Cut. Before cutting, roll the adhesive shelf liner back the opposite way from the roll to help it lay flat. It will be easier to work with if the edge isn’t trying to roll up. Then, cut the liner adding an extra 1⁄4 in. to the measurements to allow for any shrinking and to ensure that the entire surface will be covered.

3. Place. To install the adhesive shelf liner, first peel back the paper liner, leaving about 1 in. of the adhesive exposed. Then, line up the liner with the back of the drawer and use a scraping tool to press it into place.

4. Scrape. Slowly remove the rest of the paper backing, continuing to use the scraping tool to smooth out the liner. Then use a straight edge and sharp blade to remove any excess liner from the edges of the surface.

Finishing Touches

Now onto the fun part... After determining what will be stored in the drawer, choose bins or drawer dividers to split up the space and gather items in the drawer. Store like items together in categories within the bins, giving everything a home. Then you're ready to enjoy your beautifully organized drawer!
