AVON, Ohio (June 22, 2015) – The cupcake craze is far from over. Practically a pop culture phenomenon, these tasty treats have made their way from bakery shelves to television shows and even apparel. The Kids In Need Foundation + Duck Tape® Cupcake Design Contest challenges entrants to tap into their artistic side and create a cupcake-themed duct tape design for a chance to win a $5,000 grand prize.

From traditional favorites like red velvet to out-of-the-box offerings like maple bacon, cupcakes are now found in numerous varieties, providing plenty of options to design a truly scrumptious submission. Entering is easy – simply produce an original cupcake-themed design and then submit it at duckbrand.com/kidsinneed. The contest entry period begins on June 22nd and ends August 3rd. Then, a panel of judges will evaluate the entries, using criteria of creativity and relevancy to assess the designs. The winner will receive a grand prize of $5,000 and may have his or her design featured on a limited edition roll of Duck® brand duct tape. The winner will be notified no later than August 12th.

The contest was created in honor of the Kids In Need Foundation’s 20th birthday, which will be recognized at the foundation’s Education Celebration Gala in Minneapolis on September 30th. For 20 years strong, the Kids In Need Foundation has been serving communities across the country by providing free school supplies to students most in need. The gala will honor this significant milestone. To extend the celebration, Duck® brand will be sponsoring a cupcake-themed after party which will showcase the contest winner.
